Homevolt

The Homevolt integrationIntegrations connect and integrate Home Assistant with your devices, services, and more. [Learn more] lets Home Assistant read local data from your Homevolt battery over your network, no cloud required.

Configuration

To add the Homevolt device to your Home Assistant instance, use this My button:

Homevolt can be auto-discovered by Home Assistant. If an instance was found, it will be shown as Discovered. You can then set it up right away.

Manual configuration steps

If it wasn’t discovered automatically, don’t worry! You can set up a manual integration entry:

  • Browse to your Home Assistant instance.

  • Go to Settings > Devices & services.

  • In the bottom right corner, select the Add Integration button.

  • From the list, select Homevolt.

  • Follow the instructions on screen to complete the setup.

API access must be explicitly enabled on the Homevolt device; contact Tibber Customer Support to activate the API. Configuration needs the device IP address and, if set on the device, a password.

Host

The IP address or hostname of your Homevolt device. You can find it in your router or via the device’s discovery.

Password

The password for your Homevolt device, if it is password protected. Leave empty if no password is set.

Sensors

The integrationIntegrations connect and integrate Home Assistant with your devices, services, and more. [Learn more] creates sensors reported by the device, including:

  • Power (W) and energy (Wh/kWh)
  • Voltage (V) and current (A)
  • Temperature (°C) and frequency (Hz)
  • Battery percentage (%)
  • Signal strength (dB)
  • Text, count, or schedule status values

Switches

The integrationIntegrations connect and integrate Home Assistant with your devices, services, and more. [Learn more] creates the following switch:

  • Local mode: Enable or disable local control mode.

Selects

The Battery mode select changes the battery’s operating mode. It is available when the Local mode switch is enabled.

Available modes:

  • Idle
  • Inverter charge
  • Inverter discharge
  • Frequency reserve
  • Solar charge

Numbers

The integrationIntegrations connect and integrate Home Assistant with your devices, services, and more. [Learn more] provides the following power controls:

  • Power setpoint: Sets the battery power target.
  • Grid import limit: Sets the maximum power imported from the grid.
  • Grid export limit: Sets the maximum power exported to the grid.

Each control accepts values from 0 to 11,000 W in 100 W increments.

Controls are available only when Local mode is enabled. Power setpoint is available in Inverter charge and Inverter discharge modes. Grid import limit and Grid export limit are available in Frequency reserve mode. The number controls are unavailable in Idle and Solar charge modes.

Troubleshooting

  • Failed to connect: Confirm the IP address, that the device is powered on, and that it is reachable on your network.
  • Invalid authentication: Verify the device password, or remove it if no password is configured.
  • Number controls are unavailable: Enable Local mode and select a Battery mode that supports the desired control.

Removing the integration

To remove an integration instance from Home Assistant

  1. Go to Settings > Devices & services and select the integration card.
  2. From the list of devices, select the integration instance you want to remove.
  3. Next to the entry, select the three dots menu. Then, select Delete.
