Randomly shuffle a list: shuffle
The shuffle template function takes a list and returns a new list with the items in a random order. Every time it is evaluated, the order can be different, giving you a way to introduce randomness into your templatesA template is an automation definition that can include variables for the action or data from the trigger values. This allows automations to generate dynamic actions. [Learn more].
This is useful when you want to pick a random item from a collection or display things in a random order. Function signature
The signature is a technical summary of this template function. It shows the name of the function, the values (called parameters) it accepts, and what type of data each parameter expects (for example, a piece of text or a number).
Function parameters that have a = with a value after them are optional. If you leave them out, the default value shown is used automatically. Function parameters without a default are required.

Reproducible shuffle with a seed
Pass a seed to get the same shuffled order each time. This is useful for testing or when you want consistent randomization based on a known value.
{{ shuffle(["a", "b", "c", "d"], seed="fixed") }}
["b", "d", "a", "c"]
